I finally got to watch the first episode from last week. I have to find a time when I can watch it by myself because my husband is not a big fan of dancing. I did entice him to come in for one dancer, however.
First things first: I never want to live in Los Angeles because that is where all the freaks live.
OK, I feel better. Here are some of the contestants that I remember, not necessarily by name. I don’t even want to dignify the golden helmet guy and David aka “Sex” with a comment. That Italian guy was revolting and I think he would have a better chance as a stripper. Mia’s(sp?) freudian slip was really funny though. Both of the ballroom couples they showed were really good. The soccer girl was pretty good but she’ll probably make it far because she’s cute. I liked the way they handled the blind girl. On most shows(American Idol and America’s Got Talent) she probably would have gone through just because of her disability. She really didn’t have much talent and they told her that. They were nice about it but they didn’t coddle her. The one person my husband came in to watch was the very last contestant we saw. Unfortunately, I don’t remember his name but he was a breaker/popper. I’m not really up on the distinction between all of the breaker dances. Sorry. Anyway, he was amazing. Between his dancing and his facial expressions, he was a real entertainer.
There were a lot of Contemporary and Hip Hop people this time. I didn’t see a lot of classically trained dancers doing ballet, tap, or jazz. I guess the typical audience isn’t into those styles. The first season showed a lot more diversity in dance styles. I think there was even a belly dancer one year.
